Albanese says the Liberals have given up
The Prime Minister accused the opposition of giving up, tying the jab to talk of the Coalition working with One Nation.
The Prime Minister took a swing at the Liberal Party this week, accusing the opposition of giving up. He tied the jab to talk of the Coalition working with One Nation, which let him land two hits in one line.
The attack does two jobs at once. It paints the Liberals as a spent force, and it ties them to One Nation in the same breath. That is exactly the picture Labor wants voters to hold.
The cooperation question
Rumours of any arrangement between the Coalition and One Nation are gold for the government. They let Labor argue the opposition cannot win on its own ideas and has to borrow someone else's base.
Whether there is anything real behind the rumours is another matter. For now it is the talk of it doing the work, and talk is cheap to start.
